Introduction to Sheriff Andy Creech

Welcome to Sheriff Andy Creech’s website for reelection. Sheriff Andy Creech was elected to his first term of office in 2020 and is asking the citizens of Payette County to continue to support him in the election this year. Sheriff Creech has served as a law enforcement officer in Payette County since 1997. Having worked for both the New Plymouth Police Department and the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Creech has had an opportunity to meet many of our citizens. Over the next ten weeks, he will post videos on his website to help citizens learn about him.

This week’s video is an introduction from his daughter. She is attending NNU and gave this introduction as part of her speech class. As you watch the video, you will pick up on the humor of their family. Ashlyn describes when Sheriff Creech missed the final class in arrest techniques and had to take his wife to complete the class. Some would say that her description of the takedown move he had to demonstrate with his wife was over-dramatized, but others would probably say she described it well. Sheriff Creech and his wife have been married for the last 28 years, so some of these memories are really blurry.

Sheriff Creech has heard comments from citizens with a tongue-in-cheek reference to Sheriff Andy Griffith when referring to him. While this reference is not offensive to Creech, his undersheriff has disliked being called by Barney Fife. Ashlyn uses this same reference in her speech. She also references Andy Griffith’s three strengths as a leader: Serving the community, Understanding the community, and Leading great people. Sheriff Creech does believe that these things are important. He has served in many capacities by being involved in Kiwanis, helping the Fruitland Chamber of Commerce, and speaking in schools, to name a few things.  Read the About page on his website to learn more about Sheriff Creech. His interactions with the citizens of Payette County help him understand our citizens’ needs and concerns. Sheriff Creech is focused on trying to find solutions to safeguard our community and protect our citizens. Sheriff Creech believes in the saying that a leader should surround himself with competent people. Sheriff Creech has accomplished many things over the last four years because of the leaders in the Payette County Sheriff’s Office. These deputies, alongside Sheriff Creech, strive to provide our community with the best service possible.

Enjoy the video of Ashlyn’s speech, and continue to watch for additional posts over the next ten weeks.
